April 11-15

Festival of Contemporary German Film

On April 11-15 the Kemper Art Museum presents a FREE festival of contemporary German film, screened at the Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar) in conjunction with the exhibition Reality Bites . In keeping with the recent international interest in German cinema, this festival brings a select sampling of critically-acclaimed contemporary German films to St. Louis.

Kemper Conversation: Panel on Contemporary German Film

In conjunction with the Kemper Art Museum's Festival of Contemporary German Film, a panel of scholars will explore recent German film in the socio-political and artistic context of post-unification Germany. Panelists will include:

Meet in Kemper 104

Michael Murawski, coordinator of education and public programs, will lead a gallery talk examining the connections between Josef Albers's Homage to the Square: Aurora (1951-55) (on display in the Bernoudy Permanent Collection Gallery), and the artist's approach to teaching while at Black Mountain College.
