Every so often, the Museum likes to mix things up a bit and change out pieces in the permanent collection spaces. This picture shows the installation process from a recent update in the Museum's Saligman Family Atrium.
Assistant Curator for the Collection Karen Butler notes, "The Atrium is the space in the museum where visitors congregate and probably spend most of their time, thus it is important to select works for display there that have strong visual and thematic impact. Barbara Kruger's screenprint, which has not been on view in the new building, is perfect for this because of its dramatic size and provocative message about gender and political inequality."
Stop by the Kemper Art Museum to see the finished product of all of this hard work behind the scenes!
