Teacher Workshop: Encountering the City

Using the exhibition Encountering the City: The Urban Experience in Contemporary Art as foundation, teachers will begin with an interactive tour with the Kemper Art Museum's associate curator, Meredith Malone. Following the tour, educators will explore the impact of the urban environment on how we live and interact in response to the spaces, institutions, and commerce around us with nationally known educator Kathy Walsh-Piper. The Encountering the City workshop will relate to study areas of architecture, art, language art, and social studies.

This workshop is free for members of the Kemper Art Museum; $10 for nonmembers. Space is limited, and registration is required. Light snacks and all supplies will be provided. Please register with Allison Taylor, manager of education, Kemper Art Museum at 314.935.7918 or
