American, Born 1958

Lise Drost earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1980 from Florida International University Tamiami and a Master of Fine Arts degree in printmaking from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1983. She has taught or served as artist in residence at the University of Pennsylvania in Millersville, the Oregon School of Arts and Crafts, the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida International University, and the University of Miami, where she is now head of the printmaking department.

One of the foremost practitioners of plate lithography, Drost is the author of Stone and Plate Lithography, the authoritative manual on the topic. She is the recipient of two Florida Individual Artist Grants and five research awards from the University of Miami. Drost has exhibited her work extensively across the United States, as well as in Finland and Korea.
