What does public art mean while we shelter in place? What can it tell us about who we are during a global pandemic? A live online conversation delved into the planning, preservation, and opportunities for engagement surrounding public art. The discussion, held on May 16, 2020, focused on artworks at Washington University and Laumeier Sculpture Park, and included ideas about public art's ability to engage with current events. Participants included Leslie Markle, curator for public art at the Kemper Art Museum; Lauren Ross, executive director of Laumeier Sculpture Park; and Tola Porter, PhD candidate in the Department of Art History and Archaeology in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis.
